Guanajuato

After hiking Nevado, Mariah and I decided to keep the fun going and made our way to Guanajuato for the weekend. While there, we got to enjoy the Festival Cervantino, a world-famous cultural festival that draws thousands of visitors to Guanajuato every fall. The whole weekend was magical and so different from my everyday life in Toluca - so many foreigners, colorful buildings, students, stylish peeps, art exhibits, delicious snacks, and more. It felt like the San Francisco of Mexico, or something: not too big, but full of cool stuff (including flour tortillas! Oh, how I've missed you.)

(The first event we went to - a free concert by The Lost Fingers, a super entertaining band from Quebec)

Lots of time was spent wandering around the city:

Fresh roasted coffee, what a treat!

Another great cafe.

Best agua fresca everrrr

Back to the second great cafe for an amazing lunch.

The view from the mummy museum, which was super creepy and really interesting (check it out here.)
