A little over a week ago, I went on a program-sponsored day trip to Alpujarras, an area near Granada which covers the Sierra Nevada and other mountain ranges. It wasn't an overly exciting day, spent mostly winding up steep slopes in a bus, eating, and strolling through a couple villages, but it was a nice change of scenery and a chance to just appreciate the peace of nature and quiet rural life.
