Now it's time for some back tracking...

Two and a half weeks ago, I saw Sufjan Stevens perform at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, and it was GREAT, so now I need to tell you a little bit about it.

The setlist:
1. Seven Swans
2. Too Much
3. Age of Adz
4. Heirloom
5. I Walked
6. Futile Devices
7. Vesuvius
8. Now That I’m Older
9. Get Real Get Right
10. Enchanting Ghost
11. Impossible Soul
12. Chicago
encore:
13. Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois
14. Casimir Pulaski Day
15. John Wayne Gacy, Jr.

So, I don't know if you know much of Sufjan's music, but he's a pretty eclectic and innovative artist. He used to be a little folksy, but still experimental; his newest album is... different. I didn't know how I felt about it the first time I listened to it... I thought maybe it was too conceptual for me or something. The show completely changed my mind - like I said, it was GREAT. It could have easily been totally out there, but he's such a talented musician, it just worked. It was a wonderful performance and I'm glad I splurged a little for the tickets... I mean, how many other artists can make you cry/laugh/smile/dance/confused in one night? So, listen to his music with an open mind and you will love it, trust me.
