I haven't written in here for a few weeks, but I'm hoping that my very limited readership will forgive me.
I recently turned nineteen and my first birthday in Boston was a mixed experience. It was pretty low-key, as I prefer birthdays to be, but nevertheless it made me more aware of my separation from my loved ones. I wished I could have gotten a hug from those people I cherish the most.
I still, however, received plenty of love from my family and friends back home. I felt so lucky to open my mailbox day after day and see a new card or little gift. I was overwhelmed with all this sweet generosity; I certainly don't deserve such kindness.
I also got the chance to spend time with some newer friends. Along with my current roommate Sarah and my future roommate India, I embarked on a crepe adventure (orchestrated by one dear Lisa Townsend) for my birthday eve celebration. The food was DELICIOUS and though my semi-vegan tummy did not quite appreciate all the milk and eggs, my palate certainly did. Sarah also planned out some birthday treats which failed as surprises but definitely brought joy to my day... overall, I think it was a success.
A graffiti flop.
The wonderful food.
Quality time with some natural beauty.
