i who have died am alive again today

Before I left my dad's house last week, I decided to take a mysterious cord I found because it just seemed like it would come in handy. And, to my astonishment, it fit into my mom's camera (and my computer despite the teeth marks...) so I now, for the first time in my life, have a working camera! I decided to celebrate the occasion by documenting some of the springtime loveliness around campus:

All this natural beauty brings to mind one of my favorite poems by E. E. Cummings:

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any--lifted from the no
of all nothing--human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

I hope you all can have your ears awakened and eyes opened by the glory of the natural world around you!

P.S. If you want to see more spring pictures, go to my online photo albums or my Facebook photos. You can also see the pictures I finally uploaded from the trip to Italy almost two years ago!
