Action Painting

My life last week: lovely. I got to spend my afternoons reading, climbing trees, or simply lounging in the sun because the weather was wonderful and my evenings going to eco-friendly events because it was Green Week. On Saturday, I went to the 4Boston (a volunteer organization I'm part of) Spring Teach-in and was delighted to see a slam poetry group perform (so fantastic!); then I played around outside and saw an a capella show that night. And then Sunday I went to church and to the beach! Basically a fabulous week.

Yesterday, however, it started raining and my fun outside ended. Fortunately, a nice new pair of TOMS came to my rescue; inspired by Jackson Pollock, I tried my hand at abstract expressionism and joyfully spent an hour decorating my shoes:

I got even more excited about my new creation when I saw the painting of the day today:
Autumn Rhythm, an art history favorite and a perfect match!
